The first annual Gin Festival in Vancouver features tastings of over 39+ local gins and 12+ international gins from 16+ distilleries. It promises to be an evening of diverse botanicals, juniper-infused craft gins, and live entertainment at the Round House Community Center in Yaletown.
Fringe Festival – September 5 -15, 2024
The Fringe Festival is the largest alternative theatre event of its kind in BC. It has been running since 1985 and features more than 700 performances. The performances showcase a variety of theatrical styles, and there is something for everyone, from comedy to drama to dance.

Renfrew Ravine Moonfest – September 7-23, 2024
In its 22nd year, the Renfrew Ravine Moonfest is a delightful progressive free event with multiple components put on by the Still Moon Arts Society. The festival celebrates the full moon, harvest, diverse cultural traditions, and the neighbourhood’s natural environment. See map of area. There is a great lineup of entertainers, artists and workshops. Of note are the Art of Making Mooncakes, Making a Salmon Lantern and, in honour of National Day for Truth and Reconciliation, the Natural Dye Truth & Reconciliation Workshop.
This year’s theme is water reflections.
- The main event of Moonfest, which starts at 4 p.m. with the Harvest Fair in Slocan Park, is an afternoon of music, workshops, performances, games, and food.
- 7:10 p.m. – Twilight Lantern Procession is a walk with colourful figures and performers among surprising sounds and sights along the route of streams buried beneath the Renfrew-Collingwood neighbourhood.
- 7:30 p.m. – 9:30 p.m. – Streamside Lantern Installations, projections, and live performers will light up Renfrew Community Park.

Vancouver International Film Festival – September 28 – October 8, 2024
Celebrating its 44th year, VIFF is one of North America’s largest film festivals. The festival will screen roughly 140 feature films and 100 shorts on 10 screens in seven Vancouver venues. Haunted Walking Tour of New Westminster
Activities: Join Ghostly Vancouver Tours for their Ghostly New West Walking Tour and spooky storytelling of lingering spirits in Downtown New Westminister. They say they do not fabricate ghost stories; all haunted stops are researched through archives and interviews. This adult-oriented event is for ages 12 and up. An Evening of Thai Mastery – September 6, 7 and 8, 2024
Baan Lao escalates its culinary magic with an exclusive opportunity to indulge in a once-in-a-lifetime Royal Thai tasting menu.
This special event has brought together Baan Lao’s award-winning Chef Nutcha and 2-Michelin star Chef Chumpol from R-Hann in Bangkok, Thailand. This is Chumpol first North American collaboration. He is also renowned as the Iron Chef of Thailand and serves as the official ambassador of Thai cuisine worldwide. During his career, he has cooked for the Thai Royal families, VIP guests of the Thai government, European royalty, Presidents, and Prime Ministers. Chumpol has previously worked with culinary giants such as Anton Mosimann, Joan Roca, and Pierre Gagnaire.
Chef Nutcha is the first Thai chef in Canada to be named on Canada’s Best 100 list and earn the title of Maître Rôtisseur with La Chaîne des Rotisseur. Chef Nutcha created the world’s first certified tea Sommelier-led Afternoon Thai Tea experience.
Richmond Night Market – Every weekend until October 9, 2024
The Richmond Night Market is the largest event of its kind in North America. Come experience the array of international foods, interesting characters and creative merchandise sold by many booths. There are more than 110 food booths, along with food trucks offering more than 600 different foods, drinks and desserts.
Metro Vancouver Feast of Fields at Stable Farms – September 8, 2024
The 29th Annual Feast of Fields fundraising event brings together farmers and top chefs, bakers, food artisans, vintners, brewers, distillers and others for this four-hour wandering gourmet festival. Wander from tent to tent, tasting gourmet offerings and beverages while listening to live music. The VIP ticket package includes a private tasting, guided farm tour and other exclusive perks along with a $75 tax receipt.
A shuttle pickup is available from two locations: Vancouver and Surrey.

Mid-Autumn Moon Family Day – September 14, 2024
Attend the third annual Mid-Autumn Moon Family Day celebration to learn about mooncakes, watch performances from Uzume Taiko, a Lion dance by the Shao Lin Hung Gar Lion Dance Team, and a special performance by The BC Chinese Music Ensemble presented by Vancouver Inter-Cultural Orchestra.

Cloverdale Market Days – September 21, 2024
Market Days is set in historic downtown Cloverdale. The street is closed to car traffic for the open air market allowing easy access to explore the 150 vendors. Filipino Festival – September 21, 2024
Celebrate the Philippines. Enjoy live performances, dance, music, an ocean-inspired expressive arts with Filipino-Canadian artist Paulina Constancia, Tagalog and English storytelling and more. This event is held at the Surrey Museum.
Langley September Festivals and Events
Langley Good Times Cruise In – September 7, 2024 – 8 a.m. – 4 p.m.
The Good Times Cruise In is one of Canada’s largest mixed car shows. The annual event started in 1997 and has grown in popularity ever since. The car show may display more than 1,200 vehicles, depending on registrations. In 2002, there were 1,532 cars registered.
Location: Fraser Hwy from 264 to 272 St in Aldergrove
The Bog Riverside Cranberry Farm – Late September – October, 2024
Come experience the Cranberry Harvest and Farm Tour at Riverside Cranberry Farm.
Take the Harvest Walk around the perimeter of the cranberry field to watch active cranberry harvesting. Then, take a self-guided audio tour to learn about cranberry farming and its history. There are lots of great photo opportunities. For an additional fee, take the cranberry plunge-wading experience.
Remember to visit the farm-to-table store on site to pick up fresh cranberries for Thanksgiving. The stage of harvest cannot be guaranteed for the tour date purchased.

Abbotsford Lakeland Summer Flower Festival – August 1 – early September, 2024
Explore 20 acres of 28 different types of sunflowers in many colours. Bring good walking shoes to travel to the field and expect to walk at least 500 m from the parking area. Strollers, wheelchairs and people with mobility issues may find it challenging. Every admission includes a 5-stem bunch of sunflowers to bring home or brighten someone’s day.

Terror at Tanglebank Estate – September 20-October 30, 2024
This Halloween season, Fraser Valley’s newest haunted attraction has arrived at Tanglebank Estate.
Terror at Tanglewood offers immersive thrills and scares with both family-friendly and adult-themed activities as well as seasonal fun and farm to table meals. At dusk, the forest comes alive with terrifying creatures lurking and eerie sights and sounds throughout the fog-shrouded labyrinth of trails.
The Fall Apothecary is brimming with seasonal wares. Discover a curated selection of Halloween themed goods including TAT gear, locally made soaps & candles, spooky home décor and scary Halloween masks.
The Pumpkin Market is filled with a variety of seasonal flowers, corn stalks and pumpkins from the classic orange to unique heirloom varieties in a variety of sizes, shapes, and colours, ensuring you find the ideal pumpkin for your display.
Abbotsford Farm and Country Market – Every Saturday, September – October 2024
Pick up locally grown and produced products from Abbotsford farmers and artisans. The market is Abbotsford’s longest running market. All vendors are vetted, meaning the market showcases the best in the area. Location: Jubilee Park, 2552 McCallum Road. 9 a.m. – Noon.
Maan Farms Fall Festival opens mid September 2024
Activities: Celebrate family fun at the 11th annual Fall Festival on the Maan Farm. The Barnyard Adventureland features a zip line, pedal kart track, giant tire crawl, play fortress, jumping pillow, and giant slides.
The Classic Pumpkin Patch includes the opportunity to take a photo in the Pumpkin House with a Princess. The four-acre poop-themed Corn Maze is an interactive daytime adventure of interesting facts. There is also an animal play area with goats and hay wagon rides.
The festive fall and Halloween-inspired treats are popular and tasty. There are apple juice pumpkins, wine-filled ‘blood’ bags at the Blood Bar, Mad Jack Pumpkin Spice wine, and a Creepy Cloud Cocktail.
We tasted the Butter Chicken Naan Tacos, Double Pumpkin SpiceCream, and Pumpkin Spice Mini Donuts, which were all delicious. Hours: Opens September 17 for the Fall at the Farm. Pumpkin Patch opens around September 24, 2024
