Celebrating its 35th year, the Bard of the Beach Shakespeare Festival returns to Sen̓áḵw/Vanier Park in Vancouver. Four performances will occur on the Main Stage: Twelfth Night, Hamlet, The Comedy of Errors, and Measure for Measure.

Theatre Under the Stars – July 5-August 24, 2024
Theatre Under the Stars (TUTS) presents CATS and School of Rock, at Stanley Park’s iconic Malkin Bowl. These two iconic Andrew Lloyd Webber masterpieces feature show-stopping song and dance numbers in CATS and high-voltage, fist-pumping rock score in School of Rock. Performances on the TUTS stage have been a Vancouver tradition since 1940. TUTS’ early bird tickets are on sale now through June 19.
Johnny Cash – Ring of Fire – extended to August 25, 2024
Ring of Fire is a theatrical concert weaving through the unique biography of Johnny Cash, revealing his story of struggle and success, love and redemption. Singing Johnny Cash classics, this musical takes the audience on a rousing adventure through Cash’s world.  The Arts Club Theatre Company explores the wild rag-to-riches story from a childhood in the Dirty Thirties in Arkansas, where Cash worked the fields as the son of Southern Baptist sharecroppers, to his gradual climb to fame as a country singer-songwriter, his life on the road, his battles with booze and drugs, and, above all, his enduring relationship with country music royalty June Carter.

PNE Summer Nights Concerts – August 17-September 2, 2024
One of the most popular programs of the annual PNE Fair, the Summer Night Concerts, will be held in the Pacific Colosseum. Diverse performances will showcase iconic figures from music history in Pop, Rock, and R&B, along with rising stars in the industry.
Here are some of the performers: Burton Cummings, Blondie, Blue Rodeo, Pointer Sisters, Bachman-Turner Overdrive and more. Admission to the Fair is free with the purchase of show tickets.
Vancouver Mural Festival – August 7-11, 2024
Across Metro Vancouver, explore the creative side of Vancouver’s great outdoors and discover your new favourite murals, artists, performers, communities, neighbours and more. Take a mural tour of Downtown, the River District, Mount Pleasant and the West End. Reservations are required.
Mount Pleasant Street Party – August 8-11, 2024
As part of the mural Festival at the Mount Pleasant Street Festival, there will be live art and music on multiple stages, food trucks, local vendors, a kids zone, craft beer tasting, a zero-proof bar, open artist studios, and cozy spots to hang out.

Festival of India – August 17-18, 2024
Chant, dance and be happy. At Creekside Park, near Science World, participate in the Festival of India and the ancient Ratha Yatra festival, celebrating its 51st year in Vancouver. On Saturday, there is Soul Veg with yoga, live music, kids and teens fun zone.
Sunday is the full day of the festival. It starts with a parade with giant floats, then live music, theatre, cultural dance, Kirtans, a kids’ and teens’ fun zone, and a vegetarian feast to feed thousands.
Trout Lake Farmers Market – Saturdays, April – October 26, 2024
Trout Lake Farmers Market brings farm-fresh goodness to the city with fruits, vegetables, fish, meat, eggs and dairy products. There is a good selection of artisan foods and crafts, food trucks, and buskers. The market is located in the north parking lot.

There are two wonderful musical events at VanDusen Gardens on August 18.
Ginalina & One Big Family
Enjoy family folk music with Ginalina & One Big Family. This five-piece band performs sing-along summer songs about wildflowers, buzzing bees, bright days, and timeless friendship. Ginalina is a trilingual performer who sings in English, Mandarin, and French. She is a four-time JUNO Award and two-time Western Canadian Music Award winner.
Kutapira
Kutapira performs high-energy dance music that features Zimbabwean marimba blended with West African and Afro-Cuban percussion rhythms from around the world. Their music also incorporates elements of Reggae, Samba, Afrobeat, Funk, Jazz, Cumbia, Disco, and Hip Hop.
The main event takes place on the Great Lawn and then enjoy the 55-arce VanDusen Botanical Gardens. Advanced tickets advised. Limited tickets sold at the gate.
A Series of Concerts by Candlelight, now until December 31, 2024

Burnaby Blues and Roots Festival – August 10, 2024

Ethiopian Summer Festival at Edmonds Park – August 31, 2024

Burnaby Farmers Market – May 13 through the end of October
Shop for an assortment of B.C. crafts, various farm-fresh produce and delicious baked foods while listening to live music. The market opens May 13 and 14 and then operates every Saturday from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. Location: Burnaby City Hall near Deer Lake.
Summer Stages Confederation Park – July 9 – August 29, 2024
Celebrate summer with a free live performance series every Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday at 11:30 a.m. and 2 p.m. at the Spray Park. Bring a blanket or chair to sit on and enjoy. The stage is located near the spray park.
New Westminster August Events
Spend the day in Queens Park for the first-ever Brewhalla New Westminster. Sip and sample local craft beer, cider, wine, spirits, mead, and zero-proof options from over 25 craft beverage makers. Live music, games, food trucks, best-dressed contests, prizes, and entertainment will be available all day.
Queens Park is conveniently located near SkyTrain stations and downtown New West, so you can easily get to and from the festival.

Spirit of BC and Drone Show – August 4, 2025

BC Dumpling Festival – August 10, 2024

It brings families, friends, neighbours, community organizations, and businesses from different cultures together to share food, entertainment, and laughter.
The festival will take place in Town Centre Park.
World of Love Multicultural Carnival – August 24, 2024
Celebrate and learn about different cultures and heritages at the World of Love Multicultural Carnival. This vibrant cultural event features over 250 singers, dancers, and musicians from different ethnic groups taking turns performing on stage. There will also be interactive and educational activities for the children and colourful art and crafts displays.

Breakfast with the Bears on Grouse Mountain – August 2024

Shahrivargaan Persian Festival – August 25, 2024

Richmond Night Market – April 26 – October 14, 2024
The Richmond Night Market is the largest market of its kind in North America. It features Asian street food, entertainment, and a wide variety of merchandise vendors. The market is easy to reach from the Canada Line and River Rock Casino.
Country Wines Winery – Weekends, May Long Weekend until the end of October 2024
Take a tour of Country Vines Winery, a six-acre vineyard located behind Richmond Country Farms, to learn about that city’s rich agricultural heritage and how its fertile land contributes to making award-winning wines.

Agrifair 2024 – August 2-4
Since 1909, the Agrifair County Fair in Abbotsford has celebrated its agricultural roots with great food and entertainment for the entire family. Visitors can see the 4H Show, Open Horse and Classic Horse Show, barnyard animals, and Fraser Valley Antique Farm Machinery Display.

Chilliwack Sweet Corn Festival – August 3-4, 2024
This is the first year of the Chilliwack Sweet Corn Festival at Glendale Acres. Experience farm fun with live music, corn eating and shucking contests and lots of delicious sweet corn specialties.
152 Annual Chilliwack Fair – August 9-11, 2024
The Chilliwack Fair held at the Chilliwack Heritage Park is the second oldest continuously running Fair in BC. Despite being the foundation on which it was built, the fair is about much more than agriculture.
At the fair, you’ll find amazing food vendors, entertainment, face painting, pony rides, marketplace vendors, a Rough Stock event on Friday night (bulls, bareback, saddle bronc), a BCRA Rodeo, 4-H and farm animals, live music, talented local artists, a kitchen stage, a photo booth, inflatable games, and more!
